The rubber gasket around the wooden access hatch to my 2007 NT42 is
compressed, so the hatch sits lower than the rest of the wooden floor. This
causes a slight tripping hazard and makes it more difficult to move
furnishings around to access the engine room.
I am sure that I can experiment with various rubber strip materials to
see which will work best as a replacement, but I wondered if someone had
already done this and could recommend a product (or just the ideal material
type and thickness dimension).
Any help would be appreciated.

Previous owner put one on my 32. Easy to do and I have never smelled an odor. I replace the charcoal medium every year.

I installed one years back, post holding tank. The exit tube leads out the starboard engine room air vent. I also change the charcoal, every year or so.
