Hi Tony,  it might be a switch on the starboard side of bed.  On our 2008 32, it was on the top side step.

I inadvertently thru some shoes up there and lost the windlass.

Hope this helps

Subject: [Sentoa] Windlass fuse?

I have 2008 32’ (hull 268) with Lofrans Tigress windlass controlled by foot activated foot pressure switches at the bow and by a “rocker” switch at the steering wheel.

Today while anchoring I managed to “unable” both the foot switches and the pilot house switch. Neither now work. When the pilot house switch is activated there is distinct “click” sound from the bow.

The Loran manual shows a 5 amp fuse between the foot switches and the battery. Does anyone know where this fuse is physically located?
Any other suggestions would be most welcome.  Thanks

Hello Tony
Is your anchor working now?  On our boat the Big Switch is somewhat different than the one in Angelo's photo. We did have an occasion many years ago in which the switch was accidently shut off.The switch supplies the main power to the windlass and thus has very large wire. There is also a 'small' wire that leads to the bow switch and the helm switch.  That small wire connects to an internal contactor located inside the windlass. The 'click' you hear is the internal contactor closing.... but if the main power is shut off, the windlass motor is not receiving power. One time, years ago our windlass was not working and I did not hear the 'click' of the internal contactor. After a little searching I found that the small wire on the bow switch had corroded and fallen away. Thus the internal contactor would not be powered.  In this case the switch inside the pilot house still operatedthe windlass.  I hope this helps give some understanding. If you go into Lagoon Cove, do visit 'old Steve' who lives on a rather derelict boat tied to the float opposite Lagoon Cove Marina.  Steve is now 92 going on 93 and can be full of stories about being a boom man in Wakeman sound. If you visit him, Say Hello to Steve from Barb and BrianBrian Dodsworth----- Original Message -----

Thanks Brian. Happily, the windlass is well again. The BIG BREAKER had been tripped.

Tonight I’m in Port Harvey.

Sorry to hear about your friend Steve.  It is increasingly disturbing to be reminded that our friends (and us) are not here for ever.

I hope you have a fun time at Swiftsure.

Cheers.  Tony

Many thanks Angelo. That switch is on my wife’s side of the bunk and I had never seen it. Much appreciate the prompt response

Cheers. Tony

Resending my email. The photo of the switch was too large. This photo is the back side of the switch.

Hi Tony, it might be a switch on the starboard side of bed. On our 2008 32, it was on the top side step.

I inadvertently thru some shoes up there and lost the windlass.

Hope this helps

I have a 2008 32’ (hull 268) with Lofrans Tigress windlass controlled by foot activated foot pressure switches at the bow and by a “rocker” switch at the steering wheel.

Thanks

Cheers.
