Hi David, we installed a Lebroc Ind. helm chair 2 years ago. We removed the ceiling panel in the guest qtrs for access to the old helm chair fasteners. The new base was larger diameter. I used a template to cut out the carpet. I purchased 316 SS counter sunk Allen head bolts, large diameter fender washers and nylock nuts for the new base plate. We are very happy with the chair and it is holding up well. We did not purchase their foot rest since our helm has a built in foot rest.  (Tried to send a picture but it was bounced). Cheers, Kevin 42-108

Has anyone installed a pedestal helm chair on a 42 Nordic Tug?  Specifically, should the pedestal be installed over the carpet, or should the carpet be cut around the base.  Also, what length mounting bolts are needed and how should they be supported from under the floor?  I am interested in any helpful advice and pictures.

Thanks,
