The engine room & bilge on my NT 42 needs "refreshing."
Would someone please recommend a pain they have used successfully.
Thanks

Interlux BilgeKote is a single part, semi-gloss fast drying enamel that I
have used with great success.
Be sure to wear a respirator and run a fan when using it is enclosed
spaces. Read the instructions too.

You are welcome.
I don’t recall the exact name of the Interlux BilgeKote I used, but it is
bright white in appearance and closely matches the color in the engine room
of our 2006 NT42.
I found the best approach for me to apply the paint was to thoroughly clean
the surface, mask off areas where practical, pre-paint tight areas and
corners with a brush, roll-out the larger areas with a small roller (around
4-6” wide and around 1/2”to 3/4” diameter, and back brush to blend the
rolled-on paint with the previously brush-painted tight and corner areas.
Keep a rag handy to clean-up drips and mistakes as you go.
Also be cautious of not only the toxicity of the paint vapors but also
possible fire/explosion risk in the ER where sparks can ignite them.
Keep strong airflow going during and after application.
Regarding quantity, it will depend on how much of the bilge/ER you want to
paint and how many coats you want to apply.
The paint gives good coverage so a quart goes a long ways.
I suggest you get two quart cans. One may be enough, and if so, you can
always return the unopened can.
