Good morning everyone,

While rooting through the nooks and crannies on our new boat I ran across
this item. It looks like a little davit but I can't find any fitting where
it might go. It's nicely made, stainless steel, has evidence of some wear
marks on the end loop/bail.

Does anyone have any idea about what it is for?

Thanks.

It's definitely a Weaver Davit piece. It attaches to a fitting you bolt to
the transom of your dinghy and the other end attaches to a fitting you bolt
to your swim platform.
Best wishes
