Nordic Tug 26 #80 Trim

Wed, Sep 18, 2024 2:06 AM

This question  is in regard to a severe bow down trim for a NT 26. I have followed Buddy’s recommendations but I still have a bow waterline that is above the white stripe and a stern that shows a great deal of antifouling. A crude measurement shows a 4-5 degree down angle. In referencing photos on the Sentoa website I noticed that hull numbers 79 tru 84 showed the same issue . What design/equipment  change if any were made for this range of serial numbers?
Serial numbers not in this range look to have normal trim regardless of the topsides equipment. I guess I could add a ton of lead shot but you can’t get that  in Canada. Suggestions?

Brian

I’m 26-088 and had the same problem. I added 200 lbs. of ballast aft on the outside of the stringers. This “balanced” me out even with 125 ft of chain in the bow.

Thanks,

The hatch in the cockpit floor over the lazarette was made by Freeman. We
stopped using them quite some time ago and that part was deemed (NLA) no
longer available.

Freeman is owned by Advantec Global Marine (The same folks who provide us
the current doors and windows for our Nordic Tug line.

I would consider contacting Todd Espe from Advantec Marine with the
dimensions needed and they may be able to duplicate the hatch that was
installed back in 1991.
