Has anyone installed a pedestal helm chair on a 42 Nordic Tug?
Specifically, should the pedestal be installed over the carpet, or should
the carpet be cut around the base.  Also, what length mounting bolts are
needed and how should they be supported from under the floor?  I am
interested in any helpful advice and pictures.

We had a Stidd
pedestal installed shortly after purchase.  It slides forward enough so as not to impede movement.  Very comfortable on 8 hour runs down the Strait of Georgia.
