NT42 Engine Room Hatch Gasket

The rubber gasket around the wooden access hatch to my 2007 NT42 is compressed, so the hatch sits lower than the rest of the wooden floor. This causes a slight tripping hazard and makes it more difficult to move furnishings around to access the engine room.

I am sure that I can experiment with various rubber strip materials to see which will work best as a replacement, but I wondered if someone had already done this and could recommend a product (or just the ideal material type and thickness dimension).

Any help would be appreciated.
