Many thanks to Dave Allen with Nordic Tug and owners Michael Stern (2005 hull 32-254) and Robert Claycomb (2006 hull 32-276) who sent helpful info regarding this problem.
The Faucher brand gas shocks are a perfect fit for our 2009 (hull 32-305).
They are 60 lb and the exact length of the old shocks (the replacements from Advantec were 1/2 inch shorter and not strong enough although labelled 50 lb). The Faucher shocks were also cheaper than Advantec and shipped quickly. Part #777-7639 www.faucher.cahttp://www.faucher.ca/ 1-800-361-8085
Thanks again very much for the help.

Good morning
A couple of years back I had similar issues. I learned as it was pointed out by Mr. Allen that different years had slightly different spring placements. After two failed attempts with Adventec, I gave up and fortunately I then found Faucher Industries.
My interaction with them was very positive. The customer service tech also sent me an information sheet on all of their gas springs , with weight, stroke length, dimensions etc.
My 2006 32 used Faucher #777-7639 (60 Lb)
I suggest looking at this company for your gas spring replacements.

Hello,
We are having a tough time finding replacement gas shocks for the aft entry door hatch of our 2009 NT32. I have ordered 3 different pairs of the Attwood "gas shock adjusters" model SL-35-50-5, the model number provided by the Nordic factory. I ordered from two sources: "Back to Boating" and Advantec (in Canada).
None of them were strong enough to hold the hatch up, and were about 1/2 inch shorter than the old original ones. All 3 sets had a little sticker on them (covering part of the part number printed on the shock) saying 50#,which makes me think they are mislabelled. However the vendors just keep shrugging their shoulders, tell me to send them back, and don't offer to research it any further.
Any help would be appreciated.
