Happy New Year to all
To preserve my back I have decided to install a Lewmar Pro-Series 1000
Windlass on Tuglet. Space to install is limited and I was wondering if
anyone has managed.
To feed the beast I am adding a second 100 AH AGM starter battery. Will
the stock charging system on a Perkins 4.23 handle the additional demand or
am I into an alternator upgrade?

I did one at the beginning of Covid on my NT 26.
You do need to get a bit creative, as the space is quite tight up forward.
I put a dedicated/isolated battery for the windlass in the most-forward
locker under the v-berth. This battery is hooked to a small solar
panel....ZERO problems with this set-up.
The panel is now mounted to the side on hinges and swings up/down as
needed.

Hello,
We just redid the shades on our windows. We chose a pull down cellular shade from Hunter Douglas. They are blackout with many colour options.
Because of the slope of the salon wall, the bottom of the shade will hang away from the wall when the shades are down. I don’t like this and we didn’t like any of the options to keep them tight to the wall (like a clip or guide line). To get around this, I hid a magnet behind the fabric of the salon, under each window and glued another one to each shade. The magnets gold the bottom of the blinds against the wall. It works great and we are very pleased with the results.
